This STAR WARS personal project was a great opportunity for me to learn Unreal Engine, and combine it with the capabilities of Houdini FX. I wanted to create a piece that shows my love for STAR WARS whilst also learning how to create a project from start to finish inside Unreal Engine.

Software: Unreal Engine - Houdini FX - Adobe After Effects - Adobe Premiere Pro
Every project start by finding and studying references, and slowly forming an idea of how the project will look.
Then I started assembling the scene inside Unreal Engine, by modelling the hangar, creating the layout and populating the environment, whilst also testing different textures and lighting set - ups.
Then it came down to the creation of the smoke simulation for the steam that would be visible in the scene with the Lamda shuttle. I created a fairly simple set-up that I exported as a VDB and imported into Unreal Engine to place into my scene.
Lastly, it was all rendered out and imported into After Effects for colour grade and Adobe Premiere Pro for editing and sound design.
